Sleeping on Planes – A Playlist by RAC, Goldroom, Spencer Ludwig, Gigamesh

Travel is so often glamorized on Instagram and in music documentaries as the ultimate perk of being a professional musician. The reality is often a little less exciting. After an inevitable 2 AM set bleeds into a 6 AM flight, I often find myself needing a good playlist to drown out the crying babies and nervous drinkers sitting next to me. Noise-canceling headphones are a must and oh, so worth it.

Most of these tracks span multiple genres but they share some unique qualities. Mainly that they have a soothing, quiet, and repetitive quality to them. Not to say that they are boring – far from it. They are engaging in their own way and distract me from the actual circumstances I find myself in.

This has been a playlist that I’ve had in the works for quite some years, but now with a little help from my Kuraci co-conspirators, it’s time to share it with you all. Sleeping on planes is never a great thing, but this helps me get through it.
